Call for performances: ASSITEJ World Congress 2020, Tokyo

The ASSITEJ World Congress 2020 will take place in Tokyo, Japan from 14 – 24 May 2020.

Mr Shimoyama (ricca ricca*festa and artistic director / producer of the 2020 gathering) has a vision for Congress as a world-scale performing arts showcase, including a 100-200 seat venue to act as an ‘Australia and New Zealand House’, presenting a back to back program of works. Scheduling will be tight, which means that only a certain type of work (minimal production) will be able to be programmed.

There will be production buy-in for the main World Congress program, but participants will need to seek travel support and other funding on top of show fees.

Participation in the proposed Fringe program will be at your own expense, so support is essential.

Artists and orgs can apply through the Australia Japan Foundation for funds. Note that Mr Shimoyama is willing to write letters of support.

Grant deadline is 28 March 2019.
Congress program applications close 30 April 2019.

Keep an eye on this DFAT program as well and please share this opportunity with your Australian colleagues.
