Final Push to get an Arts Stimulus Package

TNA has joined with Live Performance Australia and other performing arts and music industry bodies to urge the government to fund an urgent package to prevent a complete and permanent industry shutdown, costing thousands of jobs and forcing the closure of performing arts and commercial companies and venues for good.

Governments Must Act to Prevent Final Curtain for Live Performance Industry
Australia’s live performance industry needs an assurance from the Federal Government it will be included in the next economic stimulus package. This is urgently required to prevent a complete and permanent industry shutdown, costing thousands of jobs and forcing the closure of performing arts and commercial companies and venues for good.

“LPA has put forward a comprehensive $750 million emergency support package to the Commonwealth, state and territory governments.
“Today all of Australia’s peak bodies and the Media Entertainment and Arts Alliance (MEAA) stand united in calling for a clear commitment from government that it will adopt these measures, otherwise, it’s the final
curtain for Australia’s world class live performance industry which has fostered generations of local and global talent,” Ms Richardson said.
“This is an economic, social and cultural emergency that demands a fast, creative, flexible and agile response from all levels of government,” Ms Richardson said.
