ArtsPeak is hosting a National Arts Election Debate in Melbourne on Wednesday 8 June. The debate will bring the arts leaders of each of the major parties together to share their big ideas and respond to the burning questions of industry leaders and commentators from across the industry.

Patricia Karvelas (ABC and Sky news) will moderate a three cornered contest with Arts Minister Senator Mitch Fifield, Shadow Arts Minister Mark Dreyfus and Greens Arts Spokesperson, Adam Bandt.

This event is now fully booked. We are encouraging people to hold an office or rehearsal room party to watch the debate live-streamed and make a huge social media impact during those two hours. (Streaming details will be uploaded to the debate page of the artspeak website on Tuesday 7th June).

The Debate will also be live-streamed on the big screen at Federation Square. Get your colleagues together to make a crowd! Let’s get the arts trending all over the nation by using the hashtags #AusVotesArts and #IStandWithTheArts

In conjunction with the National Arts Election Debate, ArtsPeak, Feral Arts, TNA and Arts House will host a National Arts Sector Meeting facilitated by Esther Anatolitis and Rachael Maza. Join sector reps from across the country for a solid afternoon of advocacy planning as the federal election approaches. Guest speakers include Ben Eltham, Zoe McKenzie and Norm Horton.

We are hoping that sector reps from across the country will be able to make it Melbourne for the meeting (and the Debate the following day).

Space is limited – book your spot here.
