2018 Highlights – Members Bulletin

Join Theatre Network Australia and be a part of a vibrant national network that supports and leads the Australian performing arts sector.

Our 2018 highlights include launching The List, awarding our very first Indie SMASH Bursary, delivering the Independent Creatives’ working trends report: This Is How We Do It; facilitating Safe Theatres conversation and policy across the performing arts; and events including the Victorian Theatre Forum with Next Wave at Arts Centre Melbourne.

Our National Engagement Strategy saw us hosting sector gatherings in Sydney, Hobart, Darwin, and Adelaide.

In consultation with our newly appointed national advisory group, we rolled out our Circus and Physical Theatre (CaPT) Strategy which included sector specific bulletins, workshops and a Sector Gathering in Melbourne as part of Sidesault at The Melba.

TNA is now the host and secretariat of ASSITEJ Australia, working towards strengthening youth theatre and theatre for young audiences.

At APAM 2018, TNA Executive Director, Nicole Beyer, was named recipient of the 2017 Sidney Myer Facilitator’s Prize recognising her work as a leading performing arts advocate, giving a voice to the small to medium and independent arts sector.

There’s also been a whole lot of work in the background: reviewing the Australian Theatre Forum (ATF), consultations and reviews across the sector, and ongoing partnerships with colleagues across university research and media such as the monthly Vision Australia “Behind the Scenes” radio segment with Chris Thompson.

As a TNA member, you are our core constituency – your ideas and advocacy priorities drive our ongoing work. We look forward to having you in the network.

Individual membership starts from $33.
